Frank Davis – University of California, Santa Barbara Dr. Frank Davis is a professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management  (www.bren.ucsb.edu), and Director of the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (www.nceas.ucsb.edu). His expertise is in terrestrial biogeography, plant ecology, and conservation planning. His research focuses on the ecology of California chaparral and oak woodlands, and on the use of digital satellite data and geographic information systems for mapping vegetation, modeling species distributions, climate change impact analysis, and conservation planning (www.biogeog.ucsb.edu). Davis has been involved in many large scale conservation and ecosystem management projects in California. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy of California, and the National Research Council’s Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology.
