Mark Herr, Wildlife Technician Mark is an LA native who has recently returned to California after completing his undergraduate career at Penn State, where he majored in Wildlife Science. Research is Mark’s passion, and his undergraduate work focused on the ecology and evolution of herpetofauna. Mark is excited to begin working on our ongoing feral pig study, and his previous experience studying invasive species gives him perspective on this system. His earlier work focused on the responses of native species to invasive fire ants in the southeastern US, and he’s excited to study the ecology of feral pigs directly. In addition to his work on pigs, Mark plans to use his strong background in herpetology to assist on conservancy projects that involve reptiles and amphibians. Outside the office, Mark likes to spend his time in the water, and is an avid scuba diver and spearfisherman.
