Russell Faucett, Retired
Prior to his retirement in 2014, Russell Faucett was the Managing Partner of
Barrington Partners LP, a private investment company that specialized in trading the
equity and debt securities of public companies in financial difficulty. Russ started
Barrington in 1984.
Russ Faucett graduated with Distinction from Pomona College with a Bachelor of
Arts in Physics and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master of
Science in Industrial Management.
In addition to his investment activities, Russ has worked with several non-
governmental organizations, assisting in improving their strategic planning and
financial management. In 2003 the Faucett Catalyst Fund was established to further
his philanthropic interests, emphasizing social entrepreneurship in the areas of
conservation and the environment, and economic development and healthcare
delivery in developing countries. Russ has years of experiences in Latin America -
climbing, trekking, birding, working with the Organization for Tropical Studies, and in
microfinance with Accion International.
Russ has served on the Administrative Board of the Cornell Lab for Ornithology and
the Board of Directors of TechnoServe, Accion International, California Heart
Foundation at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Island Press, NatureServe, the Organization
for Tropical Studies at Duke University, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the
Board of Advisors of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and the UCLA
Fielding School of Public Health.
